Celebrating Clergy Appreciation Month

Throughout October, the Diocese of Erie celebrates Clergy Appreciation Month, an opportunity to recognize the priests, deacons and bishop who faithfully serve the Church and our communities. Their ministry is present in so many of life’s moments — celebrating the sacraments, offering spiritual guidance, walking with families through times of joy and sorrow and helping us grow closer to Christ.

Throughout the month, parishioners and families are encouraged to show their gratitude in simple but meaningful ways: offer a prayer for a member of the clergy, write a personal note of thanks, volunteer at your parish or invite children to make a card or drawing.

Pastor Appreciation Day on Oct. 11 offers another special opportunity to thank pastors for their ministry and the difference they make in the lives of their parish communities. Above all, please join the Diocese of Erie in praying for all those who have answered God’s call to serve.
