Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a Franciscan Jubilee Year, running from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. The year-long observance invites the faithful worldwide to seek spiritual renewal, practice acts of charity, and pursue peace.

Beloved Disciple will offer a variety of opportunities to come closer to knowing St. Francis. This Sunday, June 7th after the 11:00 mass, there will be the first book club meeting.

On Wednesday, June 10th, there will be a trip to the Franciscan Shrine in Youngstown, Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted. The van will depart from Beloved Disciple at 9:30 AM so plan to arrive at 9:15AM. We will be having a tour of The Shrine, attend Mass and on the way back to Grove City we will stop for lunch. The cost is $5 to defray the cost of gas. There is a sign-up sheet in the gathering space or call Victoria Wagner, 724.748.6700 extension116. We will be taking the church van so there are only fourteen spots available.

 Our pilgrimage trips in the past have always turned out to be a learning experience followed up with lots of fun.
